Parents and community members are always welcome at Willagillespie Elementary School. As outlined in the district’s Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook, arrangements for classroom visitations should be made in advance with the classroom teacher. Drop-in visits, even for a few minutes, can interrupt the flow of instruction and are unfair to the children and their planned program. For everyone’s safety, all visitors must report directly to the school office to sign in and receive a visitor’s pass. Staff/students have been instructed to politely redirect visitors without a visitor sticker to the office for a proper sign in.

All adults who wish to volunteer in 4J schools must first pass a background check through the district.  The background check is free, online and takes approximately two to three weeks to process, so please plan ahead if you are intending to go on a field trip, or volunteer in the classroom.  You can find the link for the background check on the Parent Quicklinks on our Home page.

Students are expected to regularly attend and be punctual in reporting to classes. State law require parents and guardians to send students to, and maintain regular attendance in schools.  Please see the district Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook (follow the link on our School Information tab or visit the 4J website) for more information on excused and unexcused absences, and State and district policy surrounding attendance.
